My name is Laura Rickard, and I am a licensed speech-language pathologist with over 15 years of experience in the field. I hold my Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association. After earning my Master of Science degree from Ithaca College, I started my career in the suburbs of Boston working with children with very complex communication needs. This is where my passion for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and helping children "find their voice" began. In 2010, I returned home to New York’s Capital Region, where I have served as a school-based speech-language pathologist ever since. My love for and experience with AAC continued to grow throughout the past decade, but in addition, I gained valuable experience providing therapy to children with a wide variety of communication needs, including those with mild to moderate articulation, phonological, language, and social communication disorders. I believe strongly that all individuals deserve a voice, and I am committed to helping them do just that in a child-centered, child-led, fun, and motivating way!
